A Globalist travelling as a family of four paid 63,000 points for three nights at 21,000 per night while the hotel was still Category 6, and used his Globalist personal concierge to book a second room at the up-to-50-percent-off Family Rate; the concierge worked with the hotel to proactively upgrade his room to a connecting One King Garden View Deluxe so the rooms joined, on the top floor of the far building. Globalist breakfast in The Garden Room covered all four of them, combining the buffet with an ordered egg dish on later mornings after the first morning brought no menu, a tin of stroopwafels and a handwritten note were waiting in each room, and an 8 a.m. arrival could not be checked in until a call came around noon. He praised the beds, breakfast and service, overlooked the open-plan bathroom flaws, said he would return, but warned the March 2025 move to Category 7 at 25,000 to 35,000 points per night makes it much harder to justify against the Category 5 Hyatt Regency in town.

UpgradeSuite, with a suite upgrade awardRoomStandard room (Points & Cash, 12,500 points + $150/night) → Andaz SuiteBreakfastBuffet onlyWelcome amenityGiven
The reviewer booked a standard room on Points and Cash at 12,500 points plus $150 per night when the hotel was Category 5 and standard cash rates averaged about $420, and applied a suite upgrade award to confirm the Andaz Suite; his own elite status is not stated in the review. Check-in was the low point: arriving at noon he was told hourly that the suite would be ready in another hour, because a Globalist was using the room until 4 p.m., and he only got in at 5 p.m., with a bottle of wine and an apology letter provided for the delay. He rated the room, property and food 5 out of 5, called the breakfast buffet plus cooked-to-order items one of the best he has had, noted non-alcoholic minibar drinks and snacks are included, and said he plans to stay again next time in Amsterdam despite the check-in failure and high redemption cost.
