UpgradeNoneRoomTwo-bed bungalow room (points, 29,000/night) → Bungalow 12E, two bedsWelcome amenityNot given
A Globalist family spent one night on a Los Angeles to Chicago road trip at this Category 6 resort, using 29,000 peak points against a $768 cash rate. Check-in brought no welcome beverage and no thank-you for Globalist status, and there was no room upgrade even though suites were available, which he attributed to booking two beds for travelling with his kids. Their bungalow 12E was set up with only two towels and two water bottles for four registered guests, though a text to the front desk brought more immediately. The $50 daily resort fee was waived for Globalists and self-parking was complimentary, breakfast at Weft and Warp was enjoyable, and despite the weak elite recognition the family loved the pools and grounds and said they would return.

UpgradeSuite, offered without askingRoomStandard room (via Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts) → Saarinen Studio King Suite with private patioBreakfastRestaurant or F&B creditWelcome amenityGiven
A Globalist booked through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts, which brought a $100 food and beverage credit and other FHR perks. While his room was being prepared he was upgraded to a Saarinen Studio King Suite with a private 150 sq ft patio, though as a Globalist he had hoped for a full suite and none were available. Check-in included a prickly pear lemonade and raspberry oat cookies, and welcome treats of a chocolate nut seed bar, cookies and artisanal water were in the suite. Globalist breakfast at Weft and Warp came with a $60 credit covering an entree, beverage and appetizer per person, with hearty chilaquiles verdes and avocado toast. He praised the Turquoise Pool and design and highly recommended the resort, though he found the suite dimly lit, missing a work desk and a second bathroom sink.
