Aug 2021Globalist
UpgradeSuite, offered without askingRoomStandard room (points, 12,000/night) → Corner Executive Suite, 22nd floorBreakfastBuffet only
A Globalist arrived a day early for a group event in early August 2021 and spent three nights at the Category 3 rate of 12,000 points per night, 36,000 total, beating the cash rate. Check-in was quick and he was upgraded to a corner Executive Suite on the 22nd floor, the hotel's standard suite type, noting the hotel has only 27 suites among 516 rooms and later arrivals in his Globalist group found suites gone. With the Grand Club closed, Globalist breakfast was served in the restaurant as a full buffet with a staffed omelet bar, eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage and French toast, for up to four registered guests. He enjoyed the suite upgrade and free breakfast immensely and said he would gladly return at the same award value, despite some cosmetic wear in the room and heavy wildfire smoke spoiling the views after the first day.

Globalist
UpgradeSuite, offered without askingRoomStandard room (cash, under $100/night via Hyatt Prive) → Executive Suite (room 1701, 17th floor, 784 sq ft)BreakfastRestaurant or F&B credit
A Globalist booked through Hyatt Prive at under $100 per night and was told at check-in he had been upgraded on account of his Globalist status to an executive suite, room 1701 on the 17th floor, marketed at 784 sq ft. With most outlets closed during the pandemic period, the hotel's only open venue was Courier Market, so instead of regular free breakfast he received a $30 daily credit there, on top of the $100 property credit from the Prive booking, and took oatmeal and fruit one morning and eggs with toast, hash browns and sausage another. He liked the renovated suite, gym and rooftop track, and called the rate with the upgrade and credits a great deal, while noting the downtown location itself was not a draw.
