UpgradeHigher floor, offered without askingRoomRoom (type not specified in review) → Top-floor room with balcony
In a 2024 year-in-review, a Globalist reported a one-night August stay and an upgrade to a top-floor room with an amazing balcony, rating the hotel great value at 5,000 points a night and praising a nice breakfast where the manager greeted him by name. The upgrade came with a major downside: the gym sits directly above the top guest floor and weights could be heard dropping from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., which he called a major design oversight and advised other guests not to stay on the top floor.

A Globalist stayed five nights from November 26, 2021 after booking when American was selling New York to Santiago premium economy for $428 round trip. She asked her Hyatt concierge to apply a suite upgrade award, but the hotel instead proactively upgraded the stay to a junior suite without using the award. After a 5 a.m. arrival the hotel sent them to breakfast and had the room ready before 9 a.m.; the one-room junior suite on the 16th floor had a large balcony they used daily. Breakfast on weekdays was ordered dishes such as eggs benedict with cafe con leche and fruit salad, switching to a buffet at weekends, a complimentary bottle of Pinot Noir arrived the first evening, and she called the staff phenomenal and said she would certainly return, though the shower ran hot and cold.
