    A Globalist on his first Hyatt Centric stay was upgraded at check-in to a junior suite on the 10th floor, after the front desk manager gave him a personalised map tour of Montevideo highlights. Macarons and chocolate desserts with a note for him and his wife were waiting in the suite. Globalist breakfast at Plantado was complimentary as a buffet, but service was disorganised: an a la carte omelet he ordered never arrived despite later guests receiving theirs, and he settled for granola, yogurt and fruit, though the grilled sausage stood out. Most suite outlets were nonfunctional, leaving one working by the nightstand, and bathroom toiletries had a sticky residue, but staff hospitality apart from breakfast and the Pocitos beach location kept the stay mixed rather than negative.

    A Discoverist travelling with his daughter for two nights in April booked a twin room on points after the hotel dropped from Category 3 at 12,000 points to Category 2 at 8,000 points per night, far better value than the $125 cash rate. He was greeted as a Discoverist and received exactly the twin room booked, room 1103 with a city view, and said the lack of an upgrade did not surprise him at his tier. Breakfast was not included, so he skipped the roughly $29 full buffet at Plantado and paid about $10 for coffee and eggs Benedict instead. He praised the room, bathroom and Pocitos location, with the only real complaint being a checkout that took 15 minutes with just one front desk agent working.
