A Globalist paid cash at $130 per night in a peak period at this Category 2 airport hotel rather than redeeming points. At check-in he was told he had been upgraded to a suite and was given oversized room 322, though he judged it a single large room rather than a true suite with separate living space. The Regency Club was closed, but Globalist recognition included the daily buffet breakfast at Palmette, complimentary afternoon coffee or tea, and a 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. happy hour in the bar with free rein of the menu; a roughly $30 bar bill was removed at checkout. The language barrier was the main frustration, with a room-service order ending in a hamburger and fries instead of the salad requested and service staff largely unable to communicate in English. A request for an 8 p.m. checkout for a 1 a.m. flight was denied, but a 6 p.m. checkout was granted. He praised the gym, indoor pool and generous room and said he would not hesitate to return. Status is strongly evidenced by the Globalist benefits he received rather than stated as a direct self-identification, so confidence is medium.
