A Globalist spent three nights in October 2024 for the FinCon conference on points at 12,000 per night, 36,000 total, against a cash price of $892.35 after taxes for the stay. Arriving before noon he was told his room was not ready but that he had been upgraded to a Deluxe Suite, a corner suite on the 18th floor with two entrances, rooms 1825 and 1826, priced at $492 per night; the promised text saying the room was ready never arrived for him or other guests, and he only got in after returning to the desk past 4 p.m. The Sway breakfast buffet was complimentary under his Globalist benefit, parking would have been free on the award stay though he had no car, and a 4 p.m. late checkout was offered at check-in though he was leaving at noon and did not need it. The suite was spacious but the shower took several minutes to heat up, lobby and conference Wi-Fi was slow and dropped, and breakfast staff were efficient but not friendly; he still called it a good stay overall and said he would return when he needs to be downtown.

UpgradeSuite, offered without askingRoomStandard room → The Young SuiteLoungeGivenWelcome amenityGiven
On a pre-World of Hyatt stay, a legacy Gold Passport Platinum member was told at check-in that his status had earned him a room and stay upgrade to The Young Suite in the International Tower, an L-shaped suite with separate bedroom, two sitting areas, a dining area for eight or more and a granite bar. The upgrade package also included Regency Club access with free continental breakfast, which he took in the lounge the next morning where hot and cold options were served, and a welcome amenity voucher for up to $20 from the hotel market, which he spent in full on a bottle of white wine. Neither of his keycards would open the suite door and a security worker with a coding machine had to reset the lock; the hotel added 2,500 points as compensation for the trouble. He called the suite a spectacular experience and the hotel a high-quality downtown option. Status is recorded as unknown because the review uses the legacy Platinum tier name, which has no canonical slug.
