A Globalist couple stayed five nights at this Category 1 property on points at standard pricing, 5,000 per night for 25,000 total, against a standard-room cash rate of $142.61 per night including tax, and used a suite upgrade award to guarantee a one-bedroom Skyline Suite on the 21st floor, room 2111, which the hotel was pricing at $826.61 per night. Globalist breakfast at Astor on Main was complimentary for both of them, mostly ordered from the menu with a buffet offered on a couple of mornings, and a tray of cookies with a handwritten note was waiting as a welcome amenity. Parking was free on the award stay under the Globalist benefit, normally $10 per day on weekdays and $6 at weekends, and the pet fee was a flat $60 for the whole stay. The stay was mixed: the suite was spacious but the bedroom air conditioning did not work, frosted-glass doors let living-room light into the bedroom and defeated the point of booking a separate living space for night work, the bedroom curtain controls were broken, check-in had no working way to get a luggage cart up to the second-floor lobby, and the Wi-Fi was very slow and cut out, though they said they would likely return on points for the value and location.

UpgradeSuite, with a suite upgrade awardRoomStandard room (cash, $89/night; 2 rooms booked) → Studio suite with two connecting king roomsBreakfastBuffet onlyLate checkoutHonouredWelcome amenityGiven
For her daughter's 9th birthday sleepover, a reviewer who had earned Hyatt Diamond status the previous December through a status match from Hilton Gold booked two rooms at this Category 2 hotel on the paid rate of $89 per night, judging the Points and Cash option of 4,000 points plus $55 poor value against that cash price, and called Hyatt to apply a Diamond suite upgrade to one room. After she also asked the hotel directly for connecting rooms and rollaway beds and mentioned the birthday, the group arrived to find they had been given a studio suite with two connecting king rooms, far more space than expected. The Diamond welcome amenity was a fruit and cheese tray with a bottle of wine, the complimentary Diamond breakfast was the Regency buffet in the restaurant with eligibility for eight breakfasts across the two booked rooms, and a late checkout as late as 4 p.m. left time for more pool and hot tub use the next day. Status is recorded as unknown because the review uses the legacy Diamond tier name, which has no canonical slug.
