A Globalist couple paid about $125 a night in cash, booked well in advance, for a late-March 2025 stay at this Category 5 island resort, where summer rates can pass $400. They booked a standard room and used a Suite Upgrade Award to confirm the roughly 800 sq ft Regency Suite, which he called his favourite Hyatt Regency room ever, with a huge oceanfront balcony off both the living room and bedroom. Breakfast was taken mainly in the Regency Club, a Japanese and Western spread with made-to-order eggs, though Globalists could use the much larger main buffet for a small surcharge; the club also offered afternoon tea and an evening happy hour. A 4 p.m. checkout was automatic, crackers, cookies and green tea were the welcome amenity, and he said he would absolutely return.

A couple stayed three nights on a Guest of Honor booking made by a Globalist friend at the then Category 4 rate of 15,000 points a night, so Globalist benefits applied even though the reviewer's own status is not stated. They had booked a standard room; after she emailed the hotel ahead of arrival asking for a complimentary upgrade if suites were still unsold, they were upgraded at Regency Club check-in to a seventh-floor corner suite with two rooms, two large balconies and a walk-through closet. Club breakfast was a full buffet-style spread with a made-to-order egg station, the club served drinks and enough appetizers for a light dinner at its 5 to 7 p.m. cocktail hour, and valet parking was included, with the valet even returning the rental car washed. On-site restaurant prices were high and the small beaches and 9 a.m. pool opening were drawbacks, but she rated the resort far more luxurious than the Regency name suggested.
