Feb 2025Globalist
UpgradeSuite, with a suite upgrade awardRoomRoom (type not specified in review) → Executive Suite (room 1250)BreakfastÀ la carte only
A Globalist arrived just after 2 a.m. on the last stop of a road trip and found he had been marked as a no-show despite checking in on the app, which the front desk took some time to fix, and he paid $40 to park in a garage with a ceiling so low he could not fully open his car trunk. He used an expiring suite upgrade award for the Executive Suite, room 1250, a very spacious single large room with a guest bathroom, wet bar and separate living and sleeping areas, though he somewhat regretted it because the suite faced the Old Courthouse and he would have traded it for a standard room with a view of The Arch. Breakfast at RED Kitchen was included under his Globalist benefit and was a la carte only because occupancy was low, with omelets, chia pudding, an acai bowl and fruit coming to close to $110 in menu value, and the Regency Club has been shuttered since the pandemic and never reopened. He called the hotel rather sterile and the area rough, but cheap, convenient for The Arch with friendly service and a strong gym, and said he would return.

UpgradeBetter view, after askingRoomRoom (type not specified in review) → 1 King Bed Arch View Deluxe (corner room)
Travelling solo for a mid-November extended weekend booked through the Hyatt app a few days before arrival, the reviewer asked at check-in about a suite upgrade with an Arch view. The agent said he had a suite but it would not have an Arch view and offered a deluxe room with an Arch view instead, and he chose the deluxe corner room because the views mattered more than suite space while exploring alone. Self-parking was $36 per night plus tax and valet $48. The Regency Club has been closed for almost 10 years, and during renovations breakfast rotated between the Brewhouse Historical Sports Bar and RED Kitchen in the lobby, with the same menu and food and service he rated very good. He called the stay amazing, praised the friendly staff, and said the hotel is one of the best places to stay in St. Louis for its proximity to the Gateway Arch. His own elite status is not stated in the review, so it is recorded as unknown.
