A Globalist booked four nights at this Category 2 hotel on Points and Cash at 4,000 points plus $55 per night, against a paid rate above $235 per night, when the property was less than a year old. At check-in his Globalist perks were confirmed and he had been upgraded to a spacious second-floor suite, room 244, with fresh fruit, nuts and a bottle of Uzbek red wine waiting as the welcome amenity. Breakfast was complimentary in Khiva Cafe, a high-quality buffet with made-to-order omelets and waffles and sparkling wine, and he had sixth-floor Regency Club access plus a late checkout offer, though the club evening spread of unlabeled meats, finger sandwiches and dessert was one of the most disappointing he had seen and Wi-Fi was slow at times.

A Globalist travelling toward his 60-night renewal booked this Category 2 hotel on Points and Cash at 4,000 points plus $55 per night instead of the $235 paid rate, arriving before noon without warning and finding the room ready. Both he and his travelling companion were upgraded to Regency Suites, his with a bowl of fruit and a bottle of Uzbek red wine as the Globalist welcome amenity and heated bathroom floors. Breakfast in Khiva Cafe was an impressive buffet with fresh juices and made-to-order eggs, waffles, pancakes and crepes, while the Regency Club evening spread was meager with barely lukewarm unlabeled meat skewers, Wi-Fi was poor, restaurant prices were high for Uzbekistan including over $26 for a pizza and $7 for a cappuccino, and a pushy train-ticket middleman arranged through the club charged about four times the ticket price, though he still enthusiastically recommended the hotel for the comfortable suite and fair price.
