UpgradeSuite, offered without askingRoomRoom (type not specified, Hyatt Prive rate with third-night-free offer) → Park Suite (71 sqm corner suite)BreakfastFull: buffet and à la carteWelcome amenityGiven
A Globalist staying on two Hyatt Prive reservations with a third-night-free offer and a USD 100 property credit was upgraded to the 71 sqm Park Suite, the corner suite normally secured with a Suite Upgrade Award, and the hotel joined an adjacent room to the suite to create a two-bedroom setup across his two reservations. His Hyatt Concierge arranged birthday welcome amenities of sparkling wine, a slice of cake and a handwritten note. Breakfast at Onemata was included and combined the Kitchen Table buffet of fruit, baked goods and juices with small and large plates. The hard product and harbour views impressed him, but the stay was mixed: he arrived just after midnight to no doorman, turndown happened on only one night, and housekeeping was late and inconsistent about restocking, which he called the weakest service of any Park Hyatt he has stayed at, though he still looks forward to returning.

UpgradeBetter view, offered without askingRoomStandard 1 King Bed room (points, 20,000/night, 80,000 for 4 nights) → 1 King Bed Harbour View room, 7th floorBreakfastBuffet onlyWelcome amenityGiven
A Globalist spent four nights over New Year in December 2022 at this Category 5 hotel, paying the standard 20,000 points per night, 80,000 total, when cash rates were well over $600 a night. With the hotel sold out for the holiday he was still upgraded at check-in to a seventh-floor Harbour View King, described as the best available room. Globalist breakfast at Onemata combined coffee and juice, one main entree from the menu and the buffet line, which non-elites could buy as a NZ$40 continental buffet. A welcome chocolate was on the bed, room service was unusually cheap with a club sandwich around $12 and no delivery fee, and the concierge team drew strong praise; he said he would not hesitate to return.
