UpgradeHigher room categoryRoomstandard award room → premium King with Opera view, two balconiesBreakfastFull: buffet and à la carte

Room ready at 10am, and it felt like a junior suite. One of the best stays of their life, with relaxed, unfussy service.

  2. Aug 2019Globalist

UpgradeBetter viewRoomstandard award room → King room with Opera House view, one balconyBreakfastFull: buffet and à la carte

Room felt small next to other Park Hyatts, though the view and location were good. The made-to-order breakfast dishes disappointed.

  3. May 2019Globalist

RoomOpera Deluxe room, 1st floor, room 011

Passersby could see right in past the low first-floor balconies. The hotel was full, so no chance to move despite the high rate.

UpgradeHigher room category, after askingRoomKing Deluxe Opera House view, 3rd floorWelcome amenityGiven

The upgrade came after a loyalty concierge put in a good word. Sparkling wine and chocolates, and so far so good despite earlier warnings.

Three categories up, assigned before arrival. Opera House views from the desk, the bed and the soaking tub.

Nine of about ten stays the prior year got the Deluxe Opera View, but not this one. Maybe a new GM changed the policy.

UpgradeBetter view, offered without askingRoomStandard King room (points, 45,000/night) → King Bed With Opera View PremiumBreakfastBuffet onlyWelcome amenityGiven

Loved the room, service and harbor views. The hotel will not put elites in suites, though, and the value at this price felt doubtful.

  2. Globalist

RoomDeluxe Opera View Room, 1st floor (like a junior suite)

Best Hyatt stay ever over five nights. Amazing views, twice-daily housekeeping, a tour of the top-floor Sydney Suite, and Diamonds treated like VIPs.

UpgradeBetter viewRoomPark King → larger King overlooking Hickson Road, partial bridge viewBreakfastFull: buffet and à la carteWelcome amenityNot given

A modest move since the hotel was full. Damp smell, tiny TV and a cheap bathroom door, and the promised daily amenity never showed.
