A Globalist travelled in October with her daughter and stepdaughter for four off-peak nights at this Category 6 property, paying 21,000 points per night, 84,000 total, against cash rates over $800 per night, with no taxes or resort fees on the award stay. The family had booked a standard two-queen room and was upgraded at check-in to a top-floor Thompson Suite with a large balcony overlooking the waves and El Arco, where housekeeping made the sectional sofa into a king sleeper each night. Breakfast was complimentary for all three from the a la carte menu, late checkout to 4 p.m. was available but not used, the beach is not swimmable, and she praised the food and pools and said she wants to return with friends.

A Globalist used a July 2020 points opportunity to book the Penthouse Villa with Ocean View directly as a premium suite for 50,000 points per night, against a cash rate including taxes of about $3,700 per night, and stayed in villa 651, a 3,000 sq ft three-bedroom villa with a 2,000 sq ft rooftop deck and plunge pool, so no upgrade outcome was involved. The booking was honoured with daily breakfast, private roundtrip airport transfers, a pool cabana for a day and daily happy hour drinks, though some of those perks were later eliminated for new award bookings. Breakfast at The Ledge was a la carte and included coffee and juice, a fruit starter and one main, with iced coffee and cappuccinos extra, a bottle of tequila and a fruit plate arrived as a welcome gift and daily chef turndown treats followed, and he praised the views, restaurants and service, called it a deal of a lifetime, and said he absolutely plans to return.
