Hyatt Centric Downtown Denver

The rooms are kind of funny. They clearly had a design in mind, but the execution is just not there. I can't explain why, but the room just felt uncanny — like it has all the properties of a nice room, but the material and the build quality just did not follow through. Maybe it was the insulation, or the color of the paint, but something just didn't feel right.

The bathrooms are a little better than the room itself. Really though, nothing great. I'm pretty sure the bathrooms at Hyatt Place are better.

The sleep actually wasn't great. There was humidity leakage from the outside and the bedding was average at best. I didn't hear much noise from the hallway or outside.

There's Wi-Fi and USB connections. At least they don't charge their loyalty members for Wi-Fi.

There's a gym here. No spa or pool. I guess it could be worse.

At least they tried to make it different and give it a little design flair. The lobby isn't great though — it's barely a lobby. There isn't much public space anywhere, and the finishes just aren't good enough to really matter.

My room wasn't dirty, but the upkeep clearly wasn't their primary concern. Most of the room is dated and worn.

It's in the center of Denver, which I guess is the whole point of a Hyatt Centric hotel. It really serves its purpose as a location-based work hotel and very little more.

Check-in is pretty much what you would expect from an extended stay hotel. They check you in, give you your keys, and nothing else. There is an optional valet service you can pay to use.

Staff at check-in and at breakfast were friendly and helpful. That was my main interaction with staff outside of the valet.

Nothing above and beyond the basics. Pretty much what you would expect from an extended stay hotel.

Nothing wrong with operations here. My Globalist benefits were recognized without issue. Elevators worked, billing was fine, and overall everything worked. I guess there isn't much for them to fault on.

Housekeeping came by once and fulfilled the basics, like making the bed and refilling the towels and toiletries.

Breakfast here is surprisingly good. It was definitely the highlight of the stay. The potatoes were some of the most delicious hotel breakfast potatoes I have ever had. They are generous with what they give you, offering an à la carte selection, coffee and juice.

Not overly crowded, but easily accessible to everyone, including anyone walking in off the street. There is limited security here for a city hotel.

The departure here is similar to an extended stay hotel. You check out, bring your own bags down, and put your bags into the car. The bill was accurate at least, and the departure team was warm and friendly.
