UpgradeNone, though askedRoomFull Ocean View room (6th floor)
A paid upgrade was $800 a night for the last three nights, too much. February was near perfect for weather and whale watching.

UpgradeNoneRoomStandard room
With the hotel full, even a paid ocean-view move ($150-$200 a night) wasn't possible until night three. Loved the relaxed vibe and cove snorkeling.

Upgrades here seem to stop at a basic ocean room. Excellent, uncrowded breakfast with good papaya and pineapple, and juice cocktails are back.

UpgradeSuiteRoomStandard Suite (Andaz Suite) → Deluxe Ocean Suite
Worth the $200 a night last year to move up to the Deluxe Ocean Suite. The base suite faced a wall.

Dec 2024Status not stated
UpgradeSuiteRoomsuite (room ending in 40)
A December week with generally good recognition. The renovation is holding up well, and weekend breakfast gets busy but stays manageable.

Second stay, second time without a suite. Ripe fruit, rotating pastries and strong hot dishes at the buffet, with some waits this time.

UpgradeNoneRoomstandard suite
Told a standard suite can't be upgraded for Globalists anymore, and the paid offer got its inclusions wrong. Unimpressed so far.

Jul 2024Globalist
Breakfast was good, not excellent, in July 2024. The roughly $9 machine cappuccino wasn't included, but the charge was dropped after a complaint about quality.

UpgradeSuite, with a suite upgrade awardBreakfastFull: buffet and à la carte
Suite award applied by hand through the Globalist line, with parking and resort fees waived. Stingy with further upgrades, but no hard feelings.

UpgradeSuite, with a suite upgrade awardRoompoints stay (room type not specified) → 140 (corner suite)
Asked about a further upgrade the day before. Check-in offered only a paid ocean-view suite at $300 a night, yet five suites were bookable online.

Room140 (corner suite)
All suites are renovated and the property is in good shape. Suite 140 felt private, and its bedroom lanai doesn't connect to the living-room one.

The hotel emailed ahead and put them in a partial-view room on the fifth floor. A birthday mention brought generous in-room treats.

Room 138 faces trees, near stairs to the pool and beach. Moving to an Ocean suite was quoted at $200 a night, Deluxe Ocean $350.

Two suites booked, side by side on the first floor. Snacks and champagne in both, plus marketplace cookies as the Globalist perk.

Roomrenovated suiteBreakfastFull: buffet and à la carte
The softer new pillow-top mattress did not suit their back. Breakfast is a buffet again, no a la carte, and lattes are $10 extra.

RoomDeluxe Ocean View Suite (renovated)
Renovated and clearly better: new furniture, a quartz vanity, a glass shower in place of curtains. Occupancy seemed low after the Maui fires.

Feb 2023Status not stated
UpgradeNoneRoomsuite
Both suites worn in Feb 2023: broken shades, damaged furniture. Not returning, mainly because management seemed dishonest about Globalist upgrades, and it's pricey.

Found the 850 sq ft suite upgrade in the app. Checkout went to 1pm, earlier than hoped, and their daughter got birthday cupcakes.

The hotel was full, so seven nights in the booked room by the elevator. Still fantastic, and wrongly posted breakfast charges were fixed at checkout.

Told suites are no longer in the free upgrade pool. A 4pm checkout, refused at first, came through once the incoming guest was moved.

No suite despite several asks, and when suites opened for the last three nights they were $800 a night. The room itself was flawless.

Ground floor despite a flagged insect sensitivity. A move was $600, then $300 a night, until a big cockroach in the sink made it free.

Told a suite certificate couldn't be used, then upgraded anyway to the best room yet here. Low occupancy and mostly broken EV chargers, but excellent.
