UpgradeOne-bedroom suite, with a suite upgrade awardRoombase room → Gold Coast Suite

Keys ready with no wait after a redeye, not what they expect from Hyatt. Excellent service, communication and hard product.

Told there were no upgrades, then moved up on check-in day. Among the city's best luxury hotels, though an ice request sat for hours.

UpgradeOne-bedroom suite, offered without askingRoomChicago Ave Suite → Lake Michigan SuiteBreakfastFull: buffet and à la carte

Water Tower and lake views from the new suite, and breakfast excellent again. A wonderful hotel with extremely friendly, professional staff.

An excellent couple of nights, with helpful, friendly staff and strong breakfast choices. Will definitely come back on future Chicago trips.

UpgradeOne-bedroom suite, with a suite upgrade awardRoomChicago Ave SuiteBreakfastFull: buffet and à la carte

Largest suite award result ever with Hyatt, two bathrooms with Toto bidets. Quiet for a light sleeper, great breakfast apart from one overcooked steak.

  6. Mar 2026Status not stated

BreakfastFull: buffet and à la carte

Breakfast now means one entree, one hot drink, one cold drink, no cap. Steak and eggs, coffee and a smoothie, about $85, all waived.

  7. Sep 2025Status not stated

BreakfastFull: buffet and à la carte

Ordered over the $48 breakfast cap cited before, and it was all waived. Service noticeably better and more professional than last time.

  8. Aug 2025Globalist

UpgradeBetter view, offered without askingRoomKing Standard → King City View

A modest city view upgrade seemed fair for a busy concert weekend. Now weighing a Water Tower or lake view deluxe room.

  9. Jul 2025Status not stated

Surprisingly disappointing service on a return stay. Room not ready, and the stored bags never came up as promised, so they fetched them themselves.

No suites for any Globalist in house, unlike before the renovation, when they almost always got one. Scratchy towels, but would gladly return.

Breakfast covered one main plus hot and cold drinks, and a dirty martini setup was the welcome gift. Good hotel, no wow factor.
