A Globalist couple travelling for Wimbledon booked a standard King Bed room on points at 30,000 per night, when cash rates ran roughly 350 to 550 pounds. The team tried to find a suite but the hotel was full, so they were upgraded instead to a King Bed River View room overlooking the Thames. A 4 p.m. late checkout was offered proactively at check-in, a small cake and a bottle of wine were waiting as the welcome amenity, and Globalist breakfast at Nine Elms Kitchen & Terrace, normally 38 pounds, combined a continental buffet with a la carte dishes and was called one of the strongest hotel breakfasts they have had in London. They praised the spacious room, service and the large pool and spa, with only the quieter Nine Elms location and a shower that ran warm rather than hot as downsides.

UpgradeSuite, with a suite upgrade awardRoom1 King Bed (points, 50,000 for 2 nights, Category 7 off-peak) → Park Suite River View Deluxe
A Globalist booked a standard king room for two nights on 50,000 points in total and had his concierge apply a suite upgrade award to confirm a Park Suite River View, which was selling for $1,649 a night against $629 for the base room. About an hour before arrival he saw in the app that the hotel had proactively upgraded him a second time, to a 796 sq ft Park Suite River View Deluxe selling for $2,896 a night, a suite bettered only by the Ambassador and Presidential suites. He loved the suite's space, Thames views and blackout blinds, made full use of the indoor pool, and had a wonderful, relaxed visit, while still criticising the Nine Elms location, nearby construction and the overpriced breakfast from his earlier stay.
